Legal Question in Business Law in Utah

non compete disclosures and trademarking logos

I am wondering what the law is regarding International Tradmarks and if there are any forms. I also am wondering how to word a non compete form for a chain I am wanting to take national.

Thank You

Re: non compete disclosures and trademarking logos

Trademarks are generally valid only where you have actually applied. However you can apply to the Madrid System for International Trademarks and your trademark will receive limited protection from the countries who subscribe to the Madrid Trademark Treaty - some 70 countries.

Your noncompete will need to be drafted to be appropriate in scope for the nature of your business, the employment positions you want to limit competition, and other factors. You should have an attorney draft this, since it will need to conform to a number of legal factors, and if it fails to conform would be ineffective.
