Legal Question in Business Law in Utah
We sold the family store at the first of the year. The new owners did not take the family name off the store. May rolled around and I told them they owed us $20,000 for the use of our highly reputible name. They of course said they didn't owe us anything, but had the name off the store within 5 days.
I found out they still have the family name on their reciepts. Can we really get money out of them?

Any attorney will say it depends on what your contract of sale says (or doesn't say) about the name. A review of all sales documents is necessary to answer your question. Consult with a good business or IP attorney in your area for specific advice.
