Legal Question in Business Law in Utah
I am a visitor to the us and was emailed a free seven day trial at golds gym saint george utah.
When I went in I was told they did not belong to golds gym and was privatley owned so I never got my free trial all though today head office says they are owned by them!
The salesman was told I do not live here and did not want a contract, He got me to give 75.00 dollars
down and sign a paper I told him I did not want a contract and he said this is how we do it and you can leave if you move more than 25 miles and not be penalized.
I told him I cannot see without my glasses and he totally took advantage.
A week later when I found the contract I was shocked to read he signed me to a 2 year contract.
I confronted him and he assured me it was fine and I could leave any time.
I have emailed the company since last year with No responce until the bank told me to cancel my card as they have had lots of trouble with golds gym members.
The company told me to pay 50.00 dollars and prove of moving, I emailed the contract I am moving 30 miles away and theire company only requires 25 miles but the lady I have been dealing with is diigging her heals in and wont take the money or tell me where to send it just to be done with them!
She is now threaenting legal action and collections.
How can I get rid of this terriable company and there bad practices?

Sue them for predatory marketing and breach of contract.
