Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Utah
civil rights question
I was the victim of a crime and was told there would be follow-up after I filed my report. This never happened and I called every few months trying to find out what was going on. I was always told that my case file had been lost. Last time I called, I was told that it doesn't matter now. That the statute of limitations has run out to do anything to the perpetrator. Can I file a lawsuit against the police department and/or the district attorney's office for not doing their job?

No, they are immune from suits that required them to do their job. Go figure.
