Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Utah
Gender based wages
I was wondering if it is legal for me to ask my employer what the average female vs. male wage is in the overall company, or just a department (eg. manufacturing). If so, are they required to give me an answer? Could I ask what the average gender wage is based on length of employment, etc? How much information, if any, are the required to give?

There is no way to compel a company to voluntarily divulge that information. If you have a reasonable basis to believe that there is discrimination, you can file a complaint with the Utah AntiDiscrimination Division. They have the power to investigate.
