Gender Discrimination

I am a male Licensed Massage Therapist. I carry both a valid Utah license and liability insurance. In the course of looking for work, I have run into everything from ads specifying females only to employers offering a position only to be told later they've decided they don't need males. All else being equal (license, insurance, etc) is this legal? If not, what possible recourse is available?

In Utah the discrimination laws do not apply to any business with 15 or less employees. If you have been denied from an employer with greater than 15 employees then there is a possibility that you can file a discrimination action against that employer. You file through the Utah Antidiscrimination Division of the Dept of Labor.
