Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Utah

Harassment

People from the state are calling my mother everyday asking her if they can interview my little brother because he has just now, out of the blue, accused me of sexually abusing him 11 years ago. She has repeatedly told them no, they cannot have an interview with any of us and to leave us alone and they still try and contact her. My little brother is in counseling and the counselor must have turned the information over to the state. Is that legal for them to pursue this so much? Also, my brother has now said that he doesn't think I really did anything to him (which I didn't) and if he decides to allow the interview and he tells the people from the state that nothing ever happened do they legally have to leave us all alone after that or do they still have rights to contact us?

Re: Harassment

If the boy is actually telling the counselor that nothing happended, the can report that to the state, and the state should let things be. However, if the State is not convinced, then the state can pursue a number of possibilities, including removing the boy from the home - and prosecuting either civilly and/or criminally the alleged perpetrator. You and your mother should see an attorney.
