Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Utah
Hospital and Police misconduct
On July 7th, after midnight, I went to my regional hospital in Logan, Utah to have severe pain caused by sunburn treated. The apin was so intense that I started to hyperventilate and had severe chest pains. I was given a pain reliever but the effects died off quickly. The pain became so great that I attempted to leave the hospital to go somewhere that I would be treated faster. I was not thinking logically at that moment. I did not use harsh languange or attempt to confron the hospital staff. As I walked out a security guard asked me where I was going and soon after, 4 Logan policeman were surrounding me. A dog was borught out and I was told to get on the ground. I tried to explain the fierce pain I was in and yet I was still made to get down and I was handcuffed behind my back. This placed me in anguish and I stated so. Despite requesting not to be treated in that hospital I was made to go back in there and was told if I was not ''nice'' to the staff that I would brought to the jailhouse and kept there. I was handcuffed and in dire pain for over an hour. When I was freed to go I went to the cloesest hospital and was treated there? I need help knowing if the hospital and the police violated my rights. I can provide more details.
