Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Utah
what legal rights do i have, as a parent of a child abuse victim to info from the police and court records? i was told today that i can not talk to the prosecutor unless it goes to trial. all i know is the detectives referred it to the co. attorney and they declined to prosecute so they referred to the city attorney and he is being charged with a class B misd. Can i go the media for help and if so can i use his name where as he is charged with a crime against the victim? thank you for any and all help

You can ask to talk to the prosecutor, but he can refuse. You can also file a written request for the records. Also consider going to the Children's Justice Center and asking for assistance.
