Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Utah

Sexual Harassment

The company that I work for issues a newsletter every month to over 1200 employees. While reading the latest edition several co-workers and I were very shocked and offended to find an article writen for the sole purpose of male bashing. Things have become very uncomfortable at work and we are nervous about saying anything due to possible retaliation. The harassment policy is very strict but we do not feel the company cares if they break it themselves. May we take civil action and if so how? please contact me.

Re: Sexual Harassment

MAle bashing is not a protected area of discrimination. Sexual discrimination requires that an individual perform some unwelcome overt act against another employee of a sexual nature. ust bashing men does not rise to the kind of discrimination which is prosecutable. However, you should not keep quiet. You and your co-workers should complain to management - otherwise they get an impression that it is ok.
