Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Utah

I wrote a bad check many years ago to a local store. It was paid and taken care of. However my daughter applied for a job there and was told she wouldn't be hired because I had written that bad check. Is that considered discrimination as my daughter had nothing to do with it?

Not really. They can choose to not hire your daughter on that basis although it seems very petty. Frankly, you probably wouldn't want your daughter to work for someone like that anyway.
