My son's constitutional rights are being violated and he is being punished by a federal judge for failing to answer questions asked of him by a DA before a grand jury. He was subpoenaed to be a witness and now has been thrown in jail to compel him to talk. He will probably loose his job and his home as a result of this. He will not talk about something he knows nothing about. The feds are jacking him around and have made every thing difficult for him. They are profiling him because he is an animal rights activist. Apparently they believe all animal rights activists are terrorists. He has been in jail for over a week. His health is in jeopardy. Today the US Marshalls moved him to another jail that is 2 hours away which makes it difficult for us to visit. They just keep jacking him around in hope that it will compel him to talk. Their actions are punitive. He is not a criminal nor has he been charged with any other crimes, just the contempt of court. . Other than him answering their questions what other recourse does he have to be able to get out of jail?

He can hire an attorney to see if his rights have been violated.
