Legal Question in Construction Law in Utah

construction

Can someone sue for a concrete job that she doesn't think is up to her standards. Everything was done right and everybody but the lady and her brother think it is done wrong. There was no contract signed. Now she wants the 6,000 dollars back for the concrete and to break it up and do it again.

Re: construction

If the work was done to the generally accepted standards in the construction industry then a refund in not in order. If the work was substandard then the contractor is entitled to repair it if possible. Only if the work is substandard and the contractor refuses to repair can the owner sue for a refund. If the owner gets a couple of opinions from other contractors that the work was substandard, then the owner can refuse to pay, or sue for the money back. The owner can then hire another contractor to repair the poor work, and then sue the original contractor for the extra cost, if any.
