Arbitration is a substitute for a court action. Arbitrators can grant a wide variety of remedies, including rescission and damages.
Arbitration awards are enforceable in a court. An award at arbitration will not be set aside by a court unless there is a clear showing of prejudice or other ethical violation. You cannot appeal a decision made by an arbitrator.
