buying an auto
Can a car lot take back a car you purchased after all contracts are signed before you make the first payment due because the finance company they had set up for the financing decided to reject the loan. we have had the car for over a week have insurance on it and sold our old car for the down payment of this car

It depends on the wording in the contract you signed when you bought the newer car. If the deal is subject to you getting financing, and you did not get the financing, then you have not met the terms of the contract. Read the contract carefully. Your other recourse is to try to get another finance company.
