Legal Question in Consumer Law in Utah

collection bullies

My daughter recieved a bill from a doctors office for services were not sure she recieved. There are several problems involved including, why was she billed instead of myself? Why was our insurance not billed? What were the services for? The original collection agency would not answer these questions, then referred the case to an attorney who wont answer the phone, not once in over 20 attempts!. I wrote them a letter in an attempt to resolve this matter and received no reply. Now we have received a court summons. This cannot be a legal method of bill collection, we have no idea what this bill is for and cannot get an answer from anyone concerning it. Please help!

Re: collection bullies

File an answer to the summons, generally denying the allegations. File a counter suit for the failure of the doctor to properly bill the insurance. Also call the doctor so he knows what is going on with his collections. He can recall the bill.
