Legal Question in Consumer Law in Utah
Company legally doing business in Utah - are we bound by a contract?
We signed a contract to enroll my daughter in a modeling, acting school in Utah. We put down a $500 deposit and signed a contract with a balance due by the end of June of about $5400. I just found out they are not legally doing business in the state of Utah. Are we bound by this contract to pay the balance and would we be able to get our $500 deposit back??

I would need to see the contract.
There are provisions which may govern.
Why are they not legally doing business there?
Are they a foreigh corporation?
Have you checked with the Secretary of State?
