Legal Question in Consumer Law in Utah
Consumer Law in Utah
am writing to you to get some legal advise on consumer law in Utah. Monday May 28th 2007 I traded in my car and purchased a Ford F150 from a dealer in Salt Lake City Utah. We agreed a price and financing terms and signed all the contracts. On the documentation, both parties signed, it stated the interest rate (6.24%) for the finance, the length of the loan (84 months) and the total finance amount. They run a credit check on me and told me everything was fine, prepared all the paperwork and I left Salt Lake City yesterday evening a proud owner of this used truck.
Around lunchtime today the dealership called me and said they could not honor the interest rate. Do I have any recourse on this matter? I signed a legal contract and now the dealership wishes to back out of the financing offered, which has been signed by myself and the dealership manager.

The terms of the contract govern. If the dealer has the right to withdraw it can. If there is no right for the dealer to withdraw you have a nice truck. Read the contract carefully.
