Legal Question in Consumer Law in Utah
Last night my husband and i were at a car dealership negotated on a vehicle after about 2 hours we areed to purchase a car as long as the button on the radio was fixed (we comprimised way more then we wanted) we didnt take the car cause wanted the button fixed first. We signed all the paper work and was told to pick car up today. Well we just got a call and the car lot say they dont make a part to replace just the button and the whole radio will need to be replace and since they dont make just the button they dont have to fix anythng and since we signed the we can backout. Is this true they agreed in writting to fix the button but say that they didnt agree to replace radio

Without seeing the agreement, it's hard for me to give you an opinion. If the agreement contains a provision that specifically says that the sale is subject to or conditioned upon them replacing or repair the button, then you would be able to back out of the agreement. If it doesn't include this condition, then you're probably on the hook to follow through with the purchase of the car.
