Legal Question in Consumer Law in Utah
Ownership
I recently purchased a cellphone (with my own money) which was not under a contract.
I am a legal minor (age 16).
I was wondering if it was lawful in anyway for a parent or guardian to destroy the phone in any way (such as ''sawing it in half'').

Re: Ownership
It is not lawful for one party to destroy the property of another. If your parent or guardian has destroyed your phone, you should consider getting some counseling for the person along with yourself. This is not normal behavior and it would be wise for the parties to learn better ways to handle conflict.
