Legal Question in Consumer Law in Utah
Return a car to dealer
A car dealer promised to sell a car to my mom with $250 monthly payment and low interest rate. But the paper she signed was $296 monthly payment, with 11.99% and 72 months repayment. They said the $250 monthly payment is when she refinance with lower interest after 6 months. My mom was not understand English well and have no clues about refinance and have signed the paper work. Everything they promised is higher and more expensive. So is it legal to return the car after two days? She had a trade in car and have signed the title to them. She has driven the car the 2nd day, so can she return the car?
Thanks,

Re: Return a car to dealer
The dealer will not accept the car back. The dealer will claim that they explained everything to her. When she signed the contracts she signed a binding obligation. The only way to cancel the sale would be if the documents were not filled out correctly. An attorney would have to see the documents. Take her to Legal Aid.
