Legal Question in Consumer Law in Utah
returning sales merchandise
It is 8 PM on 8/15/08. We are trying to deliver a ''notice of cancellation'' for an item purchased from a door-to-door salesman. The notice must be delivered by midnight on 8/16/08. The contact numbers are non-responsive and the fax number doesn't work. Relatives are delivering a copy of the notice to the storefront address, but we're not sure if they will be open or not. Will a fax copy of the notice delivered to the storefront by the deadline meet the legal criterion?

Re: returning sales merchandise
Generally yes. Keep copies of your proof of attempts to deliver cancellation notices. Including phone records.
