bad pay roll check

My mother recieved a payroll check that she is unable to cash, because of insificiant funds. The owner of the buisness told us that he has no money! What can we do to get the money he ows us?

Re: bad pay roll check

Send the owner a letter demanding payment within 10 days, plus a fee of $20. If he does not pay you can go to small claims court and get a judgment for 3 times the amount of the check.

You can also contact Workforce Services and see if they can assist.

Of course if he never gets any money and files bankruptcy there is not much you can do.
