Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

car loan py-off

my car loan was bought by a comapny in Utah when i owed 1,000...I sent my loan payment and got it back unopened..a year later the company that bought it FINALLY started corresponding to me and now I owe 2100.00 i sent them three checks totalling amount and they will not give me the title..the truck has been dead for over a year..I want my title to take to the junk yard....
