Collections of Property

What type of property can the court collection take from me , because all I have is household items. Its a 575.00 medical bill, and my income is less that 500.00 right now. Can they take my computer and tv set?

Re: Collections of Property

If a creditor obtains a judgment in court against you, the creditor can garnish your wages, bank acounts, and can also go after personal property. However, at the time a garnishment or a writ of attachment is filed, you have an opportunity to object and to claim certain property exempt from the attachment. There is a list of exempt property in the Utah Code, which includes most of your furniture and probably your computer as well, in addition to income of at least minimum wages.
