Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah
consumers right to reverse decision about purchase
After attending a free seminar about starting a home business in real estate, I was contacted by phone some two months later. I had not signed on at the seminar but did agree at home by phone. After thinking the matter over I called back the next day and cancelled the deal.I had authorised the seller to bill my credit card for the fee, $6350. The business package had already been shipped so I returned it without opening it. Five weeks later and I still have the charge billed against my account. My question is, how long can they keep the funds, can I pass the interest charges incured on to them and is there any legal recourse I can take to clear up my credit card? Thank you for any information.

Re:consumer rights-reverse purchases
You must notify your credit card company in writing
of the dispute as soon as possible. They can frequently
mediate a resolution for you. There is normally a
sixty day time limit to do this.
