Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

I have a credit card that is over 4 years old since i made the last payment. i tried to work with them but due to them calling me at work and harrasing me,I just gave up. now i have a summons from a lawyer. the original amount was 500.00 dollars now the lawyer wants 1200.00 for court costs. can i fight this? or should i just make payment arrangements

You can fight, but if you owe the $500 you will probably be required to pay court costs and attorney fees. You can also try to negotiate a lesser payment.
