Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

Credit Reports

I paid off some tax liens back in 1997 and they are still showing on all credit reports. I have mailed them copies of everything and they still have not taken it off. I did this almose 8 years ago. Is there anything I can do. It has cost me higher interest rates and refusal of loans.

Re: Credit Reports

Adverse credit reports can stay on your credit report for up to 10 years. They should be shown as paid. You may try contacting the tax agency and see if they will release the liens, or stop reporting them.
