Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

hospital debt in utah

daughter was in car accident in 2003 taken to hospital for xrays and mri. Hospital billed me. Turned bills over to car insurance and tricare. Both paid large sums on bill. Hospital continued to bill me for balance. Was advised that once an insurer pays on hospital bill, by utah law it is considered paid in full. Is that a fact???? Now turned over to collection and reported to credit bureau.

Re: hospital debt in utah

No such law. The hospital can bill for amounts not covered by insurance. Call the hospital and talk to them about an adjustment.
