Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

legal loan changes

Last sept I signed up with a debt free service. One of my creditors tried to get me to come into their office and take out another loan to replace the one I set up with dept free. I refused to do this as I could see no advantage to this. They then filed a claim against me and I am scheduled to go to court the 26th of this month. I got a letter from another branch saying that my account has been transferred to their branch and that I will have a new loan # and payments will begin this month. Can they do this without my permission? Can they still take me to court for a loan with a loan # that no longer exists? or does it?
