Question on Credit Report

I you have something on your credit report that has been charged off as a profit loss how long can they keep reporting this on my credit? Can I take this off? The people that I filed bankruptcy on in 1998 also keep reporting me is there any way to stop this?

Generally delinquent debts are reported for ten years. There is no way to stop the reports. Just augment your poor credit history with good credit now.
