Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

Reinsert old charged off as new written/charged off

I have a home furnishing company that have written/charged off my debt in 1999 and the credit report said the record will continue until 6-2005. However, the record is dropped from my credit report and the company re-inserted the same record with new reporting dates and new written/charged off dates. What is the Utah law that I can complain about the company, what can I do to remove the negative reporting? Is there anything I can do to file complain against the company for such practice.

Thanks,

Re: Reinsert old charged off as new written/charged off

The credit can stay on your record for up to 10 years from the date of the write off. You did not pay the bill, and they can so report it.
