Sending credit Card appliation back to credit card company

Can the credit card company sue me if I send back their appication back to them in the mail in their preposted enveople with my name and address and any bar code cut out. Would the answer change if I told a lot of people about this idea and they did it too.

Re: Sending credit Card appliation back to credit card company

The technical answer is that they could sue you, but the reality is that they would not sue you. They would just throw the envelope away. There is extremely little likelihood that they could win, and even if they did they could only recover the cost of the postage. Your attempt to return the harassment to them is also a waste of time. The answers are all opened by machine, which then removes the contents and places them in a pile for processing. If there is nothing in your envelope or if there is only an incomplete application, then nothing goes into the processing stack or the processor throws away the incomplete application. The credit card company will never know you returned an empty envelope. Your best bet to avoid junk mail is to contact the post office who can tell you how to get your name removed from most - but not all - mailing lists.
