unathorized withdrawl

my husband acured a debt prior to our marrige. he was informed of debt by his ex from it placed on her credit report. he contacted persons collecting debt and asked me to pay with my personal debit card the amount the two agreed apond.i then look at my bank statement and see a second charge in a different amount as well as agreed amount. is this legal for them to do to me and my personal account?

No. Contact the collector and demand a refund, if they refuse to send the refund, you will have to sue them to get the money back.
