Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

unathorized withdrawl.

my husband acured a debt prior to our marrige. he was informed by his ex of a debt of his on her credit report. he contacted person who is doing the collections. he asked me to pay with my personal debit card an agreed amount between the two. i look at my account and see a second amount from the same company withdrawling from my account with out my beeing aware of the charge. is this legal? and if not what do i do to fix this?

Re: unathorized withdrawl.

Change your bank account number, and never in the future give your bank account or debit card number to a collection agency. Deal with collection agencies only in writing, and do not pay or promise to pay debts that are no longer legally collectible in your state.
