Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

vet bill

I recently took my pet to the vet.I allowed them to give me a $700 credit. the contract stated that no fees, or other charges would start untill 6 months from date on credit slip. 2 months later, I am rec.'g phone calls at my home asking for a name that is not mine. stating that my account is past due and late fee's are accruing. now they are sending me bills, with an incorrect name and that they have also, ''updated'' my account from the ''wrong information'' regarding the late fee accruance and that I am still responsible to pay... Can they change a contract like that, and go after me for payment, without any kind of signature or other agreement from me??

Re: vet bill

It appears that the vet has mixed your account up with another account. First go to the vet and talk with them about your account. Make sure you take a copy of your contract so they can find and correct everything. If that does not work, and the vet continues to bill you, you may have to take your case to small claims court.
