so, ive got a voice mail from a lawyer stating that im facing charges of check fraud from an unpaid pay day loan that i had. then this same lawyer called my cousin because she was a reference i used for that loan and told her i was being charged with check fraud because of an unpaid account. on her voice mail. Is this lawyer legal able to call up someone and disclose my personal information? Can I be charged with check faud for this?

The so called lawyer is guilty of violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and can be sued for damages of $1500 plus your attorney fees.
The unpaid payday loan is a loan and you can be sued for failure to pay. I do not think that the courts would find check fraud.
