Legal Question in Criminal Law in Utah
Back in June, I fought with a coworker and was fired. Then a few weeks later, the main boss called me and asked me for my help because they were short handed. I said yes because I needed the money. I was bullied through my entire shift. The bully made me go to Del Taco and buy him his dinner. Then he told me to finish washing all the dishes. I was told by the main boss that I would work until closing time, but after I did all the dishes, the bully told me to go home, 2 hours short of closing. I asked him why was he treating me like this? Then he just laughed, took all my tip money, and told me to leave. I got so upset, that I yelled at him that I was going to go home and get my gun and come back and shoot him. I have never been back to the place since. I don't even own a gun. Today I got a call from a police office saying that I would have to go to court for threatening that person. I admit I did threaten him, but I didn't mean it though. Also the bully has been arrested for drugs and has a history of drug abuse. I have 14 years of honorable military service and no history of violence or arrest. Will the court take this into account? Will I go to jail? I don't want to go to jail, but if I must, then I will. Thank you for your time.
