Legal Question in Criminal Law in Utah

Bail Revoked! For what reason? There was none!

Under what circumstances should a judge be able to Revoke someone's bail and order them to report to pretrial services? Am I wrong in thinking that a judge must have at least some kind of reason and must state that reason when revoking someones bail? Would it be a conflict of interest if the same judge that signs a search warrant also Revokes someones bail that was arrested in that search warrant?

Dealing with bail revocation

I'm licensed in Tennessee, not Utah, but there are generally procedures to get a hearing to have a reasonable bond set, where evidence is introduced into the record, and if the judge is entirely out of line with his decision you can appeal it.

To do this, contact a local criminal attorney to represent you.

Merely knowing that a judge did not treat someone right is small help -- you need an attorney who knows how to force the court to observe the law.
