Legal Question in Criminal Law in Utah

Contributing to the delinquency of a minor

ok so its an hour and a half before curfew and our friend calls us and asks what were doing, and we tell her were gonna go to go up the canyon to have a fire, and she asks if she can come and if we'll come pick her up, and we said sure, so we pick her up and head up the canyon to hang out, later that night around 5am she asks if we can take her home and i say sure. so me and my friends hop in the car and i take her home and when we get to her house her dad freaks out and calls the cops. and the cops give me this ticket. is this right? i took her down there before curfew. i had the impression she had permission from her parents. is it really my fault she didnt make it home on time? i was thinking about fighting it in court. what could my charges be? please help.

Her parents told the police that they noticed she was gone around 2am (guessing she snuck out)

im pretty sure the cops think i came down to her house and picked her up at that time.

Also when her dad told me to get out of the car he grabbed me and had a rock in his other hand. and i couldnt get away. (scary) my other friends got scared and ran for it.

Re: Contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Generally the person who is out late is the person who is responsible for the ticket. However, there may be other charges against you that can stem from this. Feel free to contact us, we travel statewide.
