Legal Question in Criminal Law in Utah
My father in law was just charged in utah with child abuse for punching his daughter in the nose. He recieved code 76-5-109 class b misdemeanor. What is the difference between what he recieved and intentional child abuse felony? Its hard to believe the penalty is the same for punching a child and smoking a joint.
