richpossion of a dangerious wepon by a restricted person
my fellony was about 20 years ago and i was looking up the vaule of a old rusty handgun that could not be fired and police came and took it and 2 weeks later put a warrent out on me can they do this and do i have any way of fighting this

it is a felony for a convicted felon to have a weapon. you may be able to fight it if you look at the definition of a weapon - if it truly would not fire, you may be ok; I do not know about that area of the law. I suggest you call James "Mitch" Vilos an attorney in the Bountiful area. He is the guru on gun issues.
