Legal Question in Criminal Law in Utah
i have a twenty year old daughter who was diagnosed several years ago with ptsd due to sever abuse at the hands of her father . abuse that while it was reported nothing was ever done her father was never charged. basically he made a deal or his lawer made a deal with the gardian adlidem that she be released to my custody and he have no further involvment with her.the question is now some years later she has started suffering from the symptoms of pstd again because of some issues envolving her dad and her half sister because of her sisters mother passing away her father has gained custody of her little sister. she fears for the little girls saftey. is it possible for her to persue charges as an adult against her father six years later. i believe she needs both mental and legal conceling. what do you recommend

Daughter should first get competent psychological counseling. If there is evidence of actual criminal wrongdoing, then daughter should file a complaint.
If the younger daughter is under age 18, a competent adult should seek her custody. If the daughter has information of abuse of the younger daughter, that should be reported to DCFS and to the court that has jurisdiction over custody of the younger daughter.
