Re: Possible Discrimination at Work

It depends on the size of the business. If this is a small company you may not have many options. If it is a larger firm they are required to grant you leave of absence until after the birth of the baby and your are entitled to your job back after the birth - as soon as a job for which you are qualified opens up.

In the meantime you may want to try some other employment which does not require strenuous work. You should also attempt to find some way to stay with your baby. Perhaps you could move in with your parents or other family/friend in exchange for you performing household duties, so you could stay with the baby - at least for the first few years. If you are not married, consider placing the child for adoption. The child deserves to have its mother home with it, and to be raised in a stable, loving, two parent home.

Good luck.
