I need to move my father from Colorado to Utah. He is on social security and medicare. He is also in debt. What are the ramifications if any to me and my family if I move him into my home?

The main problem you may face relates his need and qualification for medicaid and nursing home care. The house is an exempt asset if he has an intent to return to the home, or a spouse or dependent is living there. If he is likely to need nursing home care within the next five years, you need to do some medicaid planning.
