Emancipation legally absolves your mother for her obligation to support you. It also is a legal showing that you are capable of supporting yourself. Otherwise she has legal obligations to support you. Before you move out on your own you should discuss this decision with a counselor who may be able to provide some important insights and consequences of which you may not be aware.
