Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

I am currently 5 months pregnant and residing in Utah. The father of the baby lives with his mother in PA and does not have a job. I am wondering what steps I would need to take to make sure I have sole custody of my daughter when she is born, or what would happen if he wants joint custody and how I could fight that where he lives across the country.

I would recommend that you file a patermity action with the District Court as soon as possible. You will need to have him served with the papers in Pennsylvania and if he chooses to challenge or contest anything in the case, he will need to do so long distance by hiring an attorney in Utah to represent him.
