Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

abandoned property

My husbands ex wife left her things in his home when she left him and their children several months ago. She also has stuff stored at his parents house. Since she left there have been 3 loads of her stuff removed but not all of it. She won't take it (including any of the stuff at his parents house) but she threatens to sue him if he gets rid of anything. What are his rights?

Re: abandoned property

Send her written notice, return receipt, and tell her she has 10 (or some other reasonable number) of days to remove her belongings. If not removed you will dispose of them or charge $xx for storage. No one is required to keep the belongings of another.
