Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Adoption

My fiance wants to adopt my oldest son from a previous marriage. We have been together for 4 years and have two other children in common. Bio dad does have visitation with our son I have full physical custody and joint legal custody. Bio dad did not sign the birth certificate but paternity was established in order to get child support. What is the process for this??

Re: Adoption

1. You need to marry fiance.

2. Bio dad needs to sign a waiver of his rights - unless he has abandoned son (no contact for 6 mos or more)

3. File petition to adopt with court
