Adoption Process

I need to know how to go about the adoption process in the state of Utah. My husband and I just got married, and he wants to adopt my three-year old son. The biological father is not in the picture and has never been on the birth certificate or involved. What do we need to do to get my son legally adopted?

File a petition with the 2nd District Court seeking a step-parent adoption. If there is no named father on the birth certificate, the process is fairly simple. If you wish assistance contact me at 801-876-4422
